What can AI do well in a business, and what not?
Language models are good at reading, summarising, classifying and rewriting text and at recognising data in documents. They are poor at arithmetic, at decisions where the information is not written down, and at tasks where a single error is unacceptable without a check. The useful applications are therefore in work that currently consists of reading and re-keying, with a person judging the outcome.
How do I know whether our data is suitable?
We look at that during the discovery. The question is not whether the data is perfect, but whether the information an application needs is recorded somewhere and accessible. If procedures exist only in people’s heads, a knowledge assistant will not work. If they are in documents, even messy ones, it usually will.
Do we need an AI strategy first?
No. A strategy without a working application is just a document. We prefer to start with one pilot that proves something and build the agreements on data and oversight around it. Those agreements are needed, though, before you scale up.
What is the difference between Kantex AI and Hermes AI?
Kantex AI helps you decide whether and where AI makes sense and tests that with a small pilot. Hermes AI is Kantex’s product for business automation with AI agents: a working system that carries out tasks under human oversight. Kantex AI is often the step before; if your process is already clearly defined, you can start with Hermes directly.
What does an AI discovery cost?
The discovery is a fixed fee that we quote in advance, depending on the number of processes and departments. The pilot that follows has its own fixed price. You are not tied to anything: after each step you can stop, with the overview in hand.
